Secure Office .NET Installation |
The current version of Secure Office .NET supports Windows 2000/2003 and Windows
XP. The monitoring modules can be installed on Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista.
Please note, that Secure Office .NET must be installed on the network
administrator's computer only. No additional manual installations are required
on the monitored computers.
Please download and install the following required components before Secure
Office .NET installation. All components are available at
Microsoft Download Center
for free.
- Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0
Redistributable Package (x86)
(recommended version 2.0.50727 )
- Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable 2005
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express
Edition
- Microsoft Internet Information Services (included in Windows
2000 and XP)
- Windows Installer 3.1 (only if prompted during the
installation)
All additional components are free Microsoft products. If you have Microsoft SQL Server
2000 installed, you can use it instead of Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Express Edition.
The installation of Secure Office .NET consists of two parts:
- The Web Access module to review the logs and statistics (requires MS Internet
Information Services (IIS) ) - WebSetup_Secure Office_NET.msi file
this an application created with ASP.NET technology - Secure
Office .NET administration module - Setup Secure Office .NET.msi
file
In a typical configuration, you can install all components on a single
administrator's PC.
The necessary installation steps :
-Install Web access module ( you will use it to review the logs and statistics)
This module must be installed fist to create the SQL Server database.
Run WebSetup_Secure Office_NET.msi file and follow the
on-screen instructions. You can change the default web directory, if you
need. The default web directory for ASP.NET application is sc_view
At the end of the setup process, you will need to configure the
access to the SQL Server. You can use Windows authentication
(recommended) or SQL Server authentication. Select the server name from
the list and choose "Create user connection".
Choose "Configure ASP.NET 2.0 for IIS", if you never used ASP.NET on
your web server before. This option must be enabled for the initial
installation.
"Create new database" - must be enabled for the initial
installation, to create the SQL Server database.
"Set access from ASP.NET to SQL Server" - enables the access for ASP.NET
applications to the SQL Server database.
If you will use SQL Server authentication, the option "Create user on
SQL Server" will be available instead. See "SQL Server configuration"
chapter for details.
-Installing Secure Office .NET administration module
Run "Setup Secure Office .NET.msi" file. At the end of the setup
process, you will need to configure the connection to the SQL Server.
Choose the server name from the list and select "Create user
connection". Refer to "SQL Server configuration"
chapter for details.
